The monumental installation Colonnade by architect duo Gijs Van Vaerenbergh will remain in Baron Ruzettepark. That is what the municipal executive has decided.

Colonnade is one of the thirteen art and architecture installations of the third edition of Triennial Bruges 2021: TraumA. The pavilion is halfway between a forest of impenetrable trees and a Roman colonnade and invites you to enter the space and get lost between one hundred slanting columns.

Gijs Van Vaerenbergh is the art and architecture practice of Pieterjan Gijs and Arnout Van Vaerenberg. Their work is usually conceptual and at the same time they manage to create a timeless aesthetic experience for the public. The duo’s installations often feature clean lines and are respectfully integrated into their landscape or architectural context. The quality of their work is therefore highly praised.
